Researcher and Developer
Responsibilities
Each selected candidate will be given ownership of a strategy or predictive factor and will be responsible for investigating and developing this factor across asset classes. Expected responsibilities will include:
• Researching financial literature (both academic and industry texts); summarising and writing relevant reports, all with the aim of finding and refining profitable investment strategies.
• Finding and cleaning data for investment purposes and maintaining our data infrastructure.
• Running our software to test investment strategies.
• Writing and adjusting code to improve / expand software functionality; maintaining software infrastructure.
• Finding and cleaning data for investment purposes and maintaining our data infrastructure.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes, but please apply even if not all of them apply to you:
• Attention to detail and dedication to quality work.
• Analytical and critical thinking.
• Awareness / experience of financial markets and interest in quantitative investment strategies. Investing experience is optional but preferred.
• Experience in MATLAB and Python, experience in SQL/relational-databases and understanding of object-orientated programming are required. C++ and Linux experience are optional but please highlight them in your application if relevant. Excel proficiency assumed.
• Econometrics and statistics proficiency is required. Understanding of machine learning is an advantage.
• Research experience (through summer work or postgraduate) preferred.
• Team orientated, cooperative, flexible.
